ABAD Delegation met D.I.G. EAST

A delegation of ABAD led by M. Sohail Warind Vice Chairman ABAD with Mr. Altaf Tai Chairman Southern Region, Mr. Asif Sumsum Convener Law & Order / Anti-Encroachment Cell, Mr. Ahmed Bumbiya, Mr. Ashfaq Shaikhani, Mr. Nadeem Jeewa and Mr. Nasir Lakhani Co-Conveners of the Committee met Mr. Sultan Ali Khawaja, D.I.G. EAST, Sindh Police on 9th November at his Office.
The meeting started with Recitation from Holy Quran by Mr. Nadeem Jeewa and with brief  introduction from both sides. Mr. Sultan Ali Khawaja, D.I.G. East Sindh Police greeted ABAD delegation and chaired the meeting. Mr. Asif Sumsum, Convener of Law & Order and Anti-Encroachment Cell of ABAD introduced member of ABAD delegation to the D.I.G. West and also briefed agenda of the meeting.

The delegation informed the meeting about good working relationship and liaison with D.I.G. East Office since last few years, they also praised the efforts of former D.I.G. East Mr. Arif Hanif and Mr. Munir Ahmed Shaikh. Who have always responded to the complaints of members of ABAD and for the early resolution of the problems reported by ABAD.

Mr. Muhammad Sohail Warind, Vice Chairman ABAD briefed few cases of encroachment and land grabbing related to members of ABAD in the areas of Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Scheme 33 and Malir Areas. He informed that most of the cases are in the areas of Block-4, Block-10 & Block-11 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar Karachi. He also discussed a matter of implementation on the orders of Honorable Court, the matter related to the plot of M/s. King’s Associates in Block-4, Gulistan-eJauhar which is being illegally encroached by some land grabbers.

Mr. Sultan Ali Khawja suggested calling a meeting with the representative of M/s. King’s Associates, Mr. Ahmed Owais Thanvi or other representative to discuss the case details and ground realities. He informed that since the matter is inpending for so long due to intervention of some religious concern, therefore, the matter should be dealt as per laws.

Mr. Asif Sumsum informed that the overall law & order and encroachment situation in District East has improved since last year. However few miscreants are still involved in land grabbing and  ncroachment activities in District East Karachi, due to which some members of ABAD are facing problems.

The D.I.G. East appreciated the role of ABAD for the construction industry and praised the efforts of Builders & Developers in providing housing solutions to the common man of the country.

Mr. Asif Sumsum suggested appointing focal person for ABAD to create good working relations and liaison between ABAD & D.I.G. East office. He also suggested that monthly meetings should be arrange with D.I.G. East & Concerned S.S.P. & S.P. to discuss matters related to members of ABAD.

The DIG suggested that ABAD should directly report the matter through Letter, SMS and Whatsapp so that he can take up the matter with the relevant S.S.P. and S.P. of District East. He informed that monthly meetings can be arranged in coordination with concerned S.S.P and S.P. on mutual agreed date.

The D.I.G. East assured ABAD delegation that his offce will provide full support and coordination to ABAD as per law & merit. He noted contact numbers of ABAD delegation and suggested that any office bearers and member of the Law & Order Sub-Committee can contact him to report any complaint / issues related to Law & Order and Anti-Encroachment. He also shared his mobile number with ABAD delegation.

ABAD delegation appreciated the concern of Mr. Sultan Ali Khawaja and assured full cooperation and coordination with D.I.G. East Office.

At the end, Mr. Altaf Tai Chairman SR gave vote of thanks to the Mr. Sultan Ali Khawja and invited him on Luncheon Meeting at ABAD House on Monday, 13th November 2017 at 1:00 pm at ABAD House along with concerned S.S.P., S.P. and S.H.O’s in District East Zone, Karachi. The delegation also presented ABAD Shelter Magazine and had a group photograph with Mr. Sultan Ali Khawja.
