ABAD Delegation met DIG WEST

A delegation of ABAD led by Mr. Asif Sumsum Convener, Law & Order / Anti-Encroachment Cell – ABAD with Co-Conveners, Engr. Danish Bin Rauf, Mr. Nadeem Jeewa and Mr. Raheel Rinch met Mr. Zulfqar Ali Larik, D.I.G. West, Sindh Police on 6th November at his Office. The meeting started with Recitation from Holy Quran by Mr. Nadeem Jeewa and with brief introduction from both sides. Mr. Asif Sumsum briefed the DIG that in the past police & ABAD use to have a strong Liaison against Land grabbers, Extortions & criminals, but now with the passage of time it has weakened, so it is needed to develop that strong Liaison again to work against all the criminal activities related to ABAD members. He also requested a Focal Person for ABAD from D.I.G. West Office for West Zone of Karachi. Appreciating the role of ABAD for the construction industry the D.I.G. A delegation of ABAD led by M. Sohail Warind Vice Chairman ABAD with Mr. Altaf Tai Chairman Southern Region, Mr. Asif Sumsum Convener Law & Order / Anti-Encroachment Cell, Mr. Ahmed Bumbiya, Mr. Ashfaq Shaikhani, Mr. Nadeem Jeewa and Mr. Nasir Lakhani Co-Conveners of the Committee met Mr. Sultan Ali Khawaja, D.I.G. ABAD and Chinese counterparts join hands

Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) organized “Pak China Construction Conference” on 15th March, 2018 at ABAD House. The conference was the result of a pledge of continuous cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese builders and developers, especially in the light of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The decision of organizing a conference was taken during a meeting held on Thursday 08-02-2018 at ABAD House between office-bearers of ABAD and the Chinese Diplomatic officials Mr. Guo Chunshui, Commercial Counselor and Mr. Tony Yang, Vice Consul, Economic and Commercial Office of the People’s Republic of China in Karachi. Later on, during the meeting held on 07-03-2018 both the sides had decided to exchange company profiles of Chinese companies and companies owned by members of ABAD. Renovation and rehabilitation of Kashmir Road

Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhter, Chairman ABAD Arif Yousuf Jeewa, Patron-in-chief Mohsin Sheikhani and Chairman DMC East Moed Anwar inaugurated renovated Kashmir Road with the active support of Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD). Kashmir road was neglected since a long time as even street lights were not available on this important road. ABAD collaborated with DMC East for renovation and rehabilitation of the road by illuminating it with powerful LED lights and coloring polls and walls. Visit of Commercial Counselor of Iran with Irani Tile Association at ABAD

A delegation headed by Irani Commercial Consoler Mr. Nemeti with the members of Irani Tile Association, their Vice Chairman Mr. Sharafat visited ABAD for enhancing the business opportunities between the two countries. The delegation was greeted by office bearers of ABAD and then Muhammad Hassan Bakshi gave welcome speech on the occasion. He thanked the delegation and briefed them about the aims and objectives of ABAD. Ban on High-Rise Buildings jointly organized with FPCCI

A press conference by Offce Bearers of ABAD was held at ABAD House on 6 th October regarding ban on the construction of high-rise buildings. It was attended by large number of builders and developers, President FPCCI, Leader of Business Community S. M. Muneer and people from press and media . Addressing the conference with the Patron-in-Chief ABAD Mohsin Sheikhani, Senior Vice Chairman Fayaz Ilyas, Vice Chairman Sohail Warind and Chairman Southern Region Altaf Tai the Chairman ABAD Arif Yousuf Jeewa said that more than 300 projects are waiting for approval from the Sindh Building Control Authority resultantly a huge investment of more than Rs 600 Billion is stopped. Ban on High-rises, Not a Solution of Water Shortage

We shape our buildings; thereafter they shape us”.  Winston Churchill High-rises are the need of the modern age, yet in the November 2016 a petition was lodged by an NGO from interior Sindh in the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan for shortage of water in Sindh. The SC started hearing in December 2016 and formed one man inquiry commission under Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro to look into the water and sanitation issue in Sindh. The Commission submitted its report on March 6, 2017 revealing poor water and sanitation conditions particularly in the rural Sindh.  On the findings of report many significant orders were passed by the SC. An important one came on March 16, 2016 when the apex court restrained the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) and Cantonment Boards from issuing building approval plans for new high-rise and multi-storey commercial and residential projects without the availability of proper water supply and sewerage systems.
